December 6, 2009 marked the ribbon-cutting dedication for the new city hall and downtown streetscape of tornado-devastated Greensburg, KS. The new streetscape included the following sustainable applications:
"Infiltration basins, raingardens, stormwater collection from roof, walk and street, irrigation system uses reclaimed water, high efficient lighting, reclaimed wood furniture, reclaimed brick pavers, community gathering nodes, runoff infiltration monitoring, underground stormwater cisterns, and native plants."
PlanetReuse helped to make this the "greenest Main Street in the country" by providing 86,000 reclaimed bricks. For more views of the completed streetscape, join the PlanetReuse Facebook group and take a look at our work in the "Group Photos" section!
